YamnaCo Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary YamnaCo India Private Limited, has secured approval from the Andhra Pradesh government for the first phase of its proposed green ammonia project in the state. The project will be developed in two phases with a planned total production capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green ammonia.
The first phase, approved by the state cabinet, will have a production capacity of 0.5 MTPA and is expected to involve an investment of around $1 billion. Furthermore, the Andhra Pradesh government has agreed to allocate land for the project in Chillakur and Kota Mandal in Tirupati District near Krishnapatnam Port.
The project is planned as an export-oriented clean energy facility. It will also receive benefits under the state’s Integrated clean energy policy, including capital subsidies, tax incentives, and support for grid connectivity.
