The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has floated a tender to select solar project developers for the development of 5,500 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The projects will be developed under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work covers obtaining a no-objection certificate from the distribution company for grid connectivity. It also covers the complete design, engineering, supply, storage, civil work, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project. The developer will also provide operations and maintenance services for the project for the term of the power purchase agreement. Furthermore, the solar power developer is also required to obtain net-metering and grid connectivity for the project.
Furthermore, the bidder must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 4.95 million in the form of a bank guarantee. In addition, the successful bidder is required to submit a performance bank guarantee at the rate of Rs 3,375 per kW for the cumulative project capacity prior to signing the power purchase agreement. The bid submission deadline is June 30, 2026.
In April 2026, SECI invited bids for the development of 1,200 MW of inter-state transmission system-connected wind power projects (Tranche-XX) across India. The projects will be implemented on a build-own-operate basis, with SECI signing power purchase agreements with the selected bidders for a period of 25 years.
