SECI announces results of 10 MW solar plus storage auction

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced BNC Power Projects as the winner of its auction to develop a 10 MW grid-connected solar project along with a 10 MW/20 MWh battery energy storage system in Odisha. The project was secured at a tariff of Rs 2.60 per kWh. The project will be implemented on a build-own-operate basis, with SECI signing a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with BNC Power Projects.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work covers land identification, project installation, grid connectivity, approvals, permits, and interconnection with the state transmission utility network.  It also covers the development of the transmission network up to the delivery point.  Furthermore, the developer will bear all costs related to transmission infrastructure, scheduling, maintenance, and system operations up to the interconnection point. BNC Power Projects will also oversee the operation and maintenance of the project throughout the 25-year PPA period. The commissioning of the project is scheduled within 13 months from the effective date of the PPA. The tender was floated in February 2026.

In April 2026, SECI announced the results of its auction for 5,665 kW rooftop solar projects across 14 government buildings under the RESCO model (Tranche-VIII). GH2 Solar emerged as the largest winner, securing a total of 2.5 MW capacity at tariffs ranging from Rs 3.00 per kWh to Rs 3.13 per kWh.
