J&V Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire a portfolio of operational solar plants in Taiwan. The portfolio includes 42 operating solar plants located across Central and Southern Taiwan with a combined capacity of 187 MW. The portfolio will be acquired from a fund managed by BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners.
Furthermore, the plants are expected to generate around 270 million kWh of clean electricity annually which is sufficient to power nearly 80,000 households for more than 15 years. The additional capacity will also support GREENET, J&V Energy’s green electricity retail subsidiary, in supplying long-term renewable power to corporate clients. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
In June 2025, Lightsource bp secured approximately TWD 6 billion in financing for its 115 MWp fishery solar project in Taiwan. The project is expected to produce 180,000 MWh of renewable energy a year once operational. Furthermore, the company is cooperating with local developer GreenRock Energy for the development and fishery management for the project. Shihlin Electric & Engineering Corporation is the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project.
