Longroad Energy has commenced commercial operations at the Sun Pond project in Arizona. The project comprises 111 MWdc solar and 85 MWac/340 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project is expected to generate renewable electricity to power around 35,000 US homes annually while avoiding more than 145,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The project’s output is secured through long-term power purchase agreements with Ava Community Energy and San José Clean Energy.
Furthermore, the project forms a part of the Longroad Sun Streams Complex in Maricopa County, which includes nearly 1.6 GW of solar and storage capacity. The project incorporates a gridstack platform from Fluence for the BESS, modules from First Solar, trackers from Nextpower, and inverters from Sungrow. McCarthy Building Companies served as the project EPC contractor, with NovaSource Power Services and Longroad Energy Services providing operations and maintenance support for the project.
In September 2025, Longroad Energy achieved financial close and started construction of the 1000 Mile Solar project in Yoakum County, Texas. The financing structure includes tax equity commitment from Morgan Stanley Renewables Inc. and debt financing from Societe Generale and CIBC, with further participation from ANZ, Barclays, and Key Bank. The project will have a capacity of 400 MWdc.
