GE Vernova has secured an order from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL). The order is for the supply of nine pumped-storage units of 150 MW each for the 1.35 GW Upper Sileru Hydropower plant in Andhra Pradesh. According to the order specifications, the scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, supply, and transportation of the nine units. It also covers supervision of erection, testing, and commissioning, along with control and governing systems.
The project is expected to be completed by 2030. Furthermore, once operational, the hydropower plant is expected to store and supply electricity equivalent to the annual needs of about three million Indian homes.
Earlier, in October 2025, GE Vernova signed an agreement with Greenvolt International Power to supply, install, and commission wind turbines for the 252 MW Ialomiţa wind farm in Romania.
