Energea invests up to $5 million for Iron Spur solar project in Texas

Energea has initiated investment in the Iron Spur solar project by providing up to $5 million in secured convertible financing. The 110 MWac/140 MWdc project located near Snyder, Texas, began construction in March 2026. The project uses ground-mounted modules on single-axis trackers and is expected to generate 317 GWh of electricity in its first year.

Furthermore, the site is secured by a 35-year land lease with CT Land & Cattle. The site also features an interconnection plan involving 6.5 miles of 345 kV transmission lines connecting to the Wind Energy Transmission Texas grid. The project has signed the Full Interconnection Study Agreement and is progressing through the ERCOT study process ahead of executing the Generation Interconnection Agreement.

In January 2026, Energea expanded its Solarize Africa portfolio through the $461,611 acquisition of the YO Residence project. The project, located in Sandton, South Africa, is acquired from Sungen Systems. The project consists of a 281.82 kW DC rooftop solar installation integrated with a 700 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to serve a 101-unit residential complex and has commenced operations.
