Eveready Industries India Limited has inaugurated an alkaline battery manufacturing facility in Jammu. The plant was developed with an investment of approximately Rs 2 billion. It has a peak annual production capacity of about 360 million batteries and an installed capacity of 456 million units.
The facility is expected to increase domestic battery manufacturing capacity and support the rising demand for alkaline batteries in India. The plant may also help reduce reliance on imports and strengthen supply chain stability.
