NGEL commissions 150 MW of Rajasthan solar project 

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced commercial operations of 150 MW capacity from a 300 MW solar project located in Rajasthan. The solar capacity was developed by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited. With the addition of the newly commissioned 150 MW, NGEL’s total installed capacity has increased to 10,276.40 MW.

In April 2026, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGEL, invited bids for the supply of solar modules for 1,000 MW solar projects in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh. The supply is intended for Lalitpur-1 (435 MWp), Lalitpur-2 (435 MWp), and Chitrakoot-1 (580 MWp), aggregating to a total DC capacity of 1,450 MWp.

In January 2026, NTPC REL commissioned a 300 MW part capacity of the Bhadla solar project in Phalodi, Rajasthan. The total capacity of the project is 500 MW.
