Adani commissions 1 GW transmission link to bring renewable power into Mumbai

Adani Electricity Mumbai Infrastructure Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Limited, has commissioned a 1,000 MW high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link between Kudus and Aarey. The link will help bring more renewable power into Mumbai.

The project consists of a 30 km overhead line. Additionally, a 50 km underground corridor has been designed to operate within the constraints of a densely built urban environment. The link also features a compact HVDC substation. Furthermore, the link will enable more controlled, efficient, and higher-capacity power flows, particularly for renewable energy integration.

Earlier in February 2026, Adani Energy Solutions Limited bagged long-term financing from a consortium of Japanese banks for its flagship HVDC transmission project.
