Levanta Renewables awards EPC contract to CEEC for solar plus BESS project in Philippines

Levanta Renewables has announced the signing of an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract  with the China Energy Engineering Group (CEEC) for the development of the Barotac solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project in the Visayas, Philippines. The contract covers the full EPC scope for the project, which will integrate 166 MWp of solar capacity with an 80 MWh of BESS capacity. The project will contribute to the Philippines’ goal of achieving a 35 per cent renewable energy share in its energy mix by 2030.

In January 2026, Levanta Renewables completed the acquisition of a fully operational 93 MWp ground-mounted solar portfolio in Thailand. The acquired portfolio comprises multiple solar plants located across eight provinces in Thailand. These projects are contracted under long-term power purchase agreements with the Provincial Electricity Authority and the Metropolitan Electricity Authority.

In October 2025, Levanta Renewables obtained approval to develop a solar and storage project in the Visayas region under the Philippines’ fourth green energy auction (GEA-4). The project, spanning 155 hectares, comprises a 166 MWp ground-mounted solar project integrated with a battery energy storage system. The project represents a total investment of approximately PHP 5 billion.
