Plug Power to supply electrolyser for Hy2gen’s Courant facility in Québec

Plug Power Inc. has been awarded the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract to supply a 275 MW GenEco PEM electrolyzer system for Hy2gen Canada’s Courant project. The facility located in Baie-Comeau, Québec, will support Hy2gen’s production of low-carbon ammonia using electricity delivered through the Hydro-Québec grid. Additionally, the project will support the objectives of the mining industries in Québec, Central and Eastern Canada, and beyond.

In November 2025, Plug Power was selected for an equipment supply and long-term service agreement to provide 55 MW of electrolyser capacity for three green hydrogen projects in the UK. The order, which is subject to final investment decision (FID), covers 30 MW for the Barrow-in-Furness hydrogen  project in Cumbria, 15 MW for the Trafford green hydrogen project in Greater Manchester, and 10 MW for the Langage green hydrogen project in Plymouth.

In June 2025, Plug Power expanded its partnership with Allied Green Ammonia with a 2 GW electrolyser deal tied to a sustainable fuels project in Uzbekistan. The deal will be executed during the Tashkent International Investment Forum. Plug Power’s electrolyser technology has been selected as the foundation of a $5.5 billion green chemical production facility in Uzbekistan. The facility will produce sustainable aviation fuel, green urea, and green diesel.
