Eastman operationalises solar PV panel and module manufacturing facility in Haryana

Eastman Auto & Power Limited (Eastman) has operationalised its 800 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) panel and module manufacturing facility in Sonipat, Haryana. According to the company, the panels and modules produced at the facility comply with Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms and standards of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). With this, the company will operate as a backward-integrated solar solutions provider across solar PV panels and modules, grid-tie, off-grid, and hybrid inverters, and advanced energy storage batteries.

In February 2025, Eastman Auto and Power Limited (EAPL) through its subsidiary, Eastman New Energy Private Limited, and MTOW Mobility Private Limited (Urja Mobility), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development and deployment of lithium-ion battery technology for India’s electric vehicle market. As part of this partnership, Urja Mobility has committed to sourcing over 20,000 lithium-ion batteries from Eastman to support its nationwide battery leasing initiatives.
