The Republic of Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy has floated a tender for the development of a solar-plus-storage project. It will consist of a 300 MW solar plant with a 150 MW/540 MWh battery energy storage system. Located in Bazma in the governorate of Kebili, it is a part of the country’s national renewable energy development programme.
The project will be implemented under a concession agreement on a land parcel of approximately 440 hectares. As per the tender announcement, the tender documents and related addenda will be provided through email to the participants who have completed the registration process. The deadline for registration is May 8, 2026. Furthermore, the deadline for bid submission is October 14, 2026.
In January 2026, Voltalia was awarded a 132 MW solar project in the Gabès region of south-east Tunisia by the Tunisian government. Construction of the Wadi solar project is scheduled to begin in 2027, with commissioning planned for 2028. Once operational, the project is expected to offset around 120,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
