The Municipal Corporation of Ludhiana (MCL) has issued a tender inviting bids from central and state public-sector undertakings for the supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of electric-vehicle (EV) charging stations and battery-swap points. The projects will be implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work entails conducting detailed feasibility assessments and site surveys, installing EV charging station infrastructure with compatible AC and DC chargers, and deploying charging management software and digital payment integration.
Furthermore, MCL will assist in securing necessary permissions and allocating land or space at identified locations, along with facilitating coordination with power distribution companies. The selected bidders are required to install 50 electric vehicle charging stations. Additionally, they must establish 10 battery swap points. The scope further covers providing 10 years of operations and maintenance. The bidders are also required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1 million. The bid submission deadline is March 19, 2026.
