Growatt has launched the AURA 5000, an AC-coupled balcony energy storage system (ESS). The AURA 5000 enables users to store excess solar power generated from existing Photovoltaic (PV) modules and discharge it strategically during peak tariff periods. It offers up to 5 kWh of battery capacity, bidirectional inverter functionality and up to 2,500 W AC output. Built for dependable operation across diverse conditions, the system features an IP66-rated enclosure, cold-start capability at -30 °C, and a LiFePO4 battery supporting more than 6,000 cycles. The system is backed by a 10-year warranty. Its ultra-quiet operation below 30 dB and dark-mode display make it suitable for indoor environments. Furthermore, the less than 20 millisecond emergency power supply backup function of the ESS ensures an uninterrupted power supply for critical loads during grid failures.
The system is built on Growatt’s AC-coupled architecture, which offers broad inverter compatibility, allowing smooth integration with existing PV systems without the need for rewiring. Even for installations using conventional inverters, the system supports flexible AC coupling and smart energy management, thereby reducing retrofit complexity. The AURA 5000 also incorporates artificial intelligence-driven energy management that responds in real time to fluctuations in electricity prices, supporting households operating under dynamic tariff structures.
