RECPDCL floats tender to evacuate power from 5 GW green hydrogen projects

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has floated a tender for the development of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to evacuate power from 5 GW of green hydrogen projects in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be developed under a build-own-operate-transfer model. 

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes setting up a 4 × 1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV GIS substation at Pendurthi, along with a 1 × 330 MVAr (765 kV) bus reactor and provision for a 220 kV switchyard. It also involves installing a 300 MVAr STATCOM with 2 × 125 MVAr MSC at the Pendurthi GIS, together with a control switching arrangement for the proposed 330 MVAr bus reactor. Furthermore, the shortlisted bidders will undertake the design, engineering, equipment supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project.

Additionally, the bidders are required to submit a bid bond of Rs 787 million and a contract performance guarantee of  Rs 1.97 billion. The last date for bid submission is April 7, 2026.
