Sungrow has launched a liquid-cooled ESS, the PowerTitan 3.0. Designed for utility-scale projects, the system integrates a 1.78 MW power conversion system with 7.14 MWh of batteries within a single 20-foot container. It supports a four-hour configuration, enabling one block to deliver up to 7.2 MW/28.5 MWh. The system supports storage durations ranging from two to eight hours.
The product features a large-scale application of a fully liquid-cooled silicon carbide power conversion system. It provides a power capacity of 450 kVA per unit, achieving a maximum efficiency of 99.3 per cent and a system round-trip efficiency of 92 per cent. PowerTitan 3.0 incorporates Sungrow’s stacked cells, available in 684 Ah, 661 Ah and 640 Ah configurations. Compared to conventional wound cells, the stacked design removes corner stress, lowers internal resistance and significantly reduces risks such as lithium plating, internal short circuits and thermal runaway.
