Sun Drops Energia, a subsidiary of KPI Green Energy, has secured a letter of intent (LoI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. The LoI is for the development of 445 MW/890 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) across multiple locations in Gujarat.
The BESS will be implemented under an independent power producer model. Furthermore, the projects will be awarded viability gap funding from the Power System Development Fund.
Earlier in December 2025, KPI Green Energy Limited secured a work order worth approximately Rs 4.89 billion from the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 142 MWp/110 MWac floating solar photovoltaic project.
Furthermore, in October 2025, KPI Green Energy Limited secured a LoI from FVE Lifecare General Trading, which is a part of the F Plus Group, for the development of a 600 MW solar plus storage project in India.
