CIL issues tender to develop 20 MWac floating solar project in Uttar Pradesh

Coal India Limited (CIL) has floated a tender for the development of a 20 MWac grid-connected floating solar photovoltaic project at Chilwa Taal in Uttar Pradesh.  The project will be implemented with a minimum DC overload capacity of 40 per cent.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work consists of the design, engineering, procurement and supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar PV plant. The scope also covers providing five-year operation and maintenance services after the project’s commissioning. The bid submission deadline is January 14, 2025. 

In May 2025, Coal India Limited signed a non-binding MoU with AM Green to procure 4.5 GW of renewable energy at an estimated cost of around Rs 250 billion.
