APTRANSCO announces results of its 1 GW/2 GWh standalone BESS auction

The Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTRANSCO) has announced the results of its viability gap funding (VGF) tender for 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS).  The capacities secured by the winners and the tariffs quoted by them are as follows: SVR Electro Projects won 25 MW/50 MWh at a tariff of Rs 148,000 per MW per month. Furthermore, Ecoren Energy (275 MW/550 MWh), Bhagwati Group (75 MW/150 MWh), and Legion Energy Products (25 MW/50 MWh) secured their respective capacities at a tariff of Rs 150,000 per MW per month each. 

Other winners and the capacities secured by them are: Bondada Engineering (225 MW/450 MWh) and Power Grid Corporation of India (150 MW/300 MWh). These capacities were secured by the winners at a tariff of Rs 164,000 per MW per month each. Furthermore, Ecoren Energy secured a capacity of 225 MW/450 MWh at a tariff of Rs 165,000 per MW per month.

According to the tender guidelines, the projects will be developed on a build, own, and operate basis. The VGF assistance for each project will be capped at Rs 1.8 million per MWh and will be released in three phases. The tender was floated earlier in August 2025.
