RVUNL announces results of 500 MW/2,000 MWh standalone BESS auction 

Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) has announced the results of its viability gap funding tender for 500 MW/2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS). The BESS will be set up under a build-own-operate basis in Rajasthan by six winners. 

Patanjali Ayurved secured the largest capacity of 250 MW/1,000 MWh in this auction. Furthermore, other winners: Ultravibrant Solar Energy, Rama Reflection India, Mecpower Solutions, Bhagwati Lacto Vegetarian Exports, and Diwakar Renewable & Infra (Diwakar Solar) have won a capacity of 50 MW/200 MWh each. Moreover, all the winners quoted a tariff of Rs 285,000 per MW per month for their awarded capacities. Furthermore, the winning bidders will ink a 15-year power purchase agreement with RVUNL. The tender was floated earlier in August 2025.

Earlier in June 2025, RVUNL issued a tender to set up 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh standalone BESS at six locations in the state.
