The Maharashtra government has inked MoU worth Rs 80 billion with GSC PSP Maha Private Limited. The MoU is for the Panchmauli-Devalipada pumped storage hydroelectric project in the Dhule and Nandurbar districts.
The project has an installed capacity of 1,500 MW. Additionally, it will need approximately 19.29 TMC of water for initial storage and 3.24 TMC each year for replenishment. Furthermore, it will generate an estimated annual revenue of over Rs 11 billion for the state and create around 2,500 jobs.
Earlier in October 2025, the Maharashtra government approved the Swayampurna Maharashtra Residential Rooftop solar scheme, which entails a total financial outlay of Rs 6.55 billion, with Rs 3.30 billion earmarked for the financial year (FY) 2025–26 and Rs 3.25 billion for FY 2026–27.
Furthermore, in September 2025, the Maharashtra government approved a joint venture between the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company and SJVN.
