BPCL inks MoU with FACT for supply and trade of FOM and LFOM

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has inked a MoU with Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) to facilitate the supply and trade of fermented organic manure (FOM) and liquid fermented organic manure (LFOM). These products will be generated at BPCL’s upcoming municipal solid waste-based compressed biogas (CBG) plant located at Brahmapuram, near the Kochi Refinery. Furthermore, the plant will process 150 metric tonnes (MT) of municipal waste each day to produce 5.6 MT of CBG, 28 MT of FOM, and 100 KL of LFOM.

Earlier in April 2025, BPCL and GPS Renewables Private Limited entered into a joint venture agreement to develop CBG plants across India.

Furthermore, in February 2025, BPCL signed a MoU with the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, to advance research on sweet sorghum as a sustainable feedstock for bioethanol production.
