Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (Crompton) has bagged a letter of award (LoA) worth approximately Rs 4.45 billion from the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh. The LoA is for 77.40 MWp of rooftop solar engineering, procurement, and construction projects under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna (PMSGMBY).
Furthermore, the project scope covers the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 2 kW grid-connected rooftop solar systems. These systems will be installed for 38,699 scheduled caste and scheduled tribe consumers across five divisions of Andhra Pradesh. These divisions are Kovur, Tirupati Rural, Puttur, Chittoor (O), and Chittoor (R). Additionally, the projects will be implemented under the utility-led aggregation (capital expenditure) model. Moreover, five years of operations and maintenance services must also be provided by Crompton for the solar projects. These projects have to be completed in approximately 6 months.
Earlier in September 2025, Crompton secured a letter of empanelment from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and commissioning of off-grid direct and alternate current solar photovoltaic water pumping systems.
