The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has inked a MoU with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to jointly develop 300 MW of solar-based renewable energy projects. The projects will be developed at DRDO facilities across India. Furthermore, the collaboration seeks to make all DRDO campuses across strategic locations net zero by 2027.
Earlier in August 2025, SECI issued a request for selection for setting up 3,640 kW grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects under the renewable energy service company mode through tariff-based competitive bidding (RTSPV-Tranche-IV).
Furthermore, in the same month, SECI floated a tender for setting up 3.54 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects in educational institutions of Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur, which will be developed under the renewable energy services company mode (RTSPV–Tranche-II).
