Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) has announced winners for its 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS). Stockwell Solar, Oswal Cables, Micromax Informatics, Patanjali Renewables, and RCRS Innovations secured capacities of 200 MW/400 MWh, 100 MW/200 MWh, 50 MW/100 MWh, 100 MW/200 MWh, and 50 MW/100 MWh, respectively. All five companies quoted a tariff of Rs 177,500 per MW per month.
Furthermore, Viviana Power Tech, Galaxy Mining and Royalties, and Manda Projects secured capacities of 100MW/200 MWh each at a tariff of Rs 178,000 per MW per month. Mineralia Impex secured 50 MW/100 MWh for a tariff of Rs 178,000 per MW per month. Onward Solar and S T Electricals secured capacities of 100 MW/200 MWh and 50 MW/100 MWh, respectively. Both companies quoted a tariff of Rs 178,500 per MW per month.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work consists of making the storage facility available to RVUNL for its on-demand charging and discharging. It also involves setting up a BESS interconnection with the state transmission unit network. Furthermore, the charging and discharging schedule of the BESS will be managed by RVUNL or the Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services. The power for BESS charging will be sourced from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam. The tender was issued earlier in June 2025. Additionally, the developers will receive viability gap funding of Rs 1.8 million per MW to set up BESS.
