MHI commences study to optimise decarbonisation value chain

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has begun a study to develop a master plan for efficient facilities and logistics to export green hydrogen and ammonia from India. The initiative is a part of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry’s FY2023 Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation supplementary programme in collaboration with India’s Hygenco Green Energies.

Furthermore, earlier in August, MHI inked a contract with India’s Hygenco to gather information related to green ammonia production. As part of the study, MHI will model the production and utilisation of green hydrogen and green ammonia under actual environmental conditions and the constraints that affect their transport.

Additionally, MHI will integrate its production and usage models to explore the development of cost-effective facilities. The facilities will contribute to a master plan for carbon-neutral fuel use in countries such as India and Singapore.
