NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) from Indian and global developers. The EoI is for setting up green hydrogen or green chemical projects at the national green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh.
NGEL is developing the green hydrogen hub, which is expected to produce 2.5 million metric tonnes per annum of green chemicals such as green ammonia, methanol, eSAF, and green urea. Furthermore, the hub will include 7 GW electrolyser capacity, 7.5 GW GIS substations, and 7.5 GW transmission lines from the central transmission utility substation. It will also feature a captive port/jetty, desalination plant, chemical storage, logistics facilities, utilities, and shared infrastructure to support industrial operations.
According to the tender guidelines, to be eligible, the proposed green chemical projects must obtain renewable power, water, and other essential inputs solely from NGEL. Additionally, the renewable energy required for this hub will be supplied by NGEL from Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier this month, NGEL commissioned 100 MW of the IRCON Renewable Power Limited’s 500 MW project at the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka.
