JSW Neo Energy inks agreement to acquire Tidong Power Generation

JSW Energy’s wholly owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy has inked an agreement to completely acquire shares in Tidong Power Generation from Statkraft IH Holding AS. The transaction is valued at Rs 17.28 billion.

Tidong Power is constructing the 150 MW run-of-river hydro project in the Tidong Valley of Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district. The plant is scheduled for commissioning in October 2026. Furthermore, the plant has a 22-year power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation for 75 MW capacity, covering supply from May to October at a tariff of Rs 5.57 per kWh. The other 75 MW remains unallocated and can be sold on the merchant market.

Earlier in March 2025, JSW Neo Energy acquired a 100 per cent stake in Virya Infrapower for an amount of Rs 75.4 million.

Furthermore, in December 2024, JSW Neo Energy Limited entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a renewable energy platform with a total capacity of 4,696 MW from O2 Power Pooling.
