The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has issued a request for selection (RfS) to set up 375 MW/1500 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the state. The projects will receive viability gap funding under the power system development fund.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes setting up the BESS and its interconnection with the state transmission utility network, including the construction of the bay. The scope also covers land identification for the project .
The bidders are required to furnish an earnest money deposit of Rs 0.89 million per MW per project. The selected bidders are required to submit a performance bank guarantee of 2.24 million per MW. UPPCL will ink a battery energy discharge purchase agreement with the successful bidders. The last date for bid submission is October 13, 2025.
Earlier in August 2025, Hindustan Power signed a power purchase agreement with UPPCL. for a 435 MW DC solar photovoltaic project.
