NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has commissioned 100 MW of the IRCON Renewable Power Limited’s (IRPL) 500 MW project at the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka. Furthermore, the project is expected to commence commercial operations on September 17, 2025.
Additionally, the 500 MW capacity was secured by Ircon International, the parent company of IRPL. It was secured at the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency’s 2021 auction for developing up to 5 GW grid-connected solar projects.
Earlier in August 2025, NGEL commissioned 49.125 MW of the 300 MW Khavda solar energy project in Bhuj, Gujarat.
Furthermore, in February 2025, NGEL and Bharat Light & Power Private Limited inked a MoU to accelerate green energy initiatives and support India’s carbon-neutral goals.
