Coal India Limited (CIL) has invited expressions of interest (EoI) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of 3 GW of grid-connected solar projects on a turnkey basis across India. The proposed regions for the projects are Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work for the project consists of the design, engineering, supply and procurement, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar plants. Furthermore, the scope also consists of providing operation and maintenance services. Additionally, the selected bidders need to provide the solar modules, balance of systems, and acquire the land for the project. Moreover, the projects must be designed for interconnection with neighboring interstate transmission networks. The last date for bid submission is September 16, 2025.
Earlier in May 2025, CIL entered into a non-binding MoU with AM Green to supply 4.5 GW of renewable energy, comprising both solar and wind power.
