The Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APTRANSCO) has issued a tender for establishing 2 GWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) across seven substations in the state. The project will be awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. Additionally, the project is eligible for grants under the viability gap funding.
The scope of work for the project entails establishing the BESS, interconnecting it with the state transmission utility network. It also includes operations and maintenance, along with equipment and personnel safety. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders need to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 480,000 per MW. Furthermore, the last date of the bid submission is September 29, 2025.
Earlier in August 2025, SECI had issued a request for proposal (RfP) to select a supplier for a 600 MW/1,200 MWh standalone grid-connected battery energy storage system (BESS). The system will be located at Kolimigundla, Nandyal district in Andhra Pradesh.
