The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a tender for setting up 3.54 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects in educational institutions of Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur. The project will be developed under the renewable energy services company mode (RTSPV–Tranche-II).
In Assam, projects will be set up at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Guwahati, and have capacities of 2,000 kW and 125 kW, respectively. In Sikkim, projects will be set up in Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), Majhitar, and SMU, Tadong, with capacities of 700 kW and 550 kW, respectively. Furthermore, in Manipur, Manipur University (MU), Imphal will have projects with a capacity of 165 kW.
The scope of work under the projects includes the design, engineering, supply, storage, civil work, erection, testing, and commissioning. The scope also includes providing operation and maintenance services for a period of 25 years.
According to the tender guidelines, bidders need to submit an earnest money deposit according to the location. The amounts are Rs 1.98 million for IIT, Guwahati; Rs 123,750 for IIIT, Guwahati; Rs 544,500 for SMU, Tadong; Rs 693,000 for SMU, Majhitar; and Rs 163,350 for MU, Imphal. Additionally, the selected bidders must ink a power purchase agreement for 25 years. The last date for bid submission is October 3, 2025.
