Prime Minister flags off Maruti Suzuki’s e-Vitara EV

The Indian prime minister has unveiled the green mobility initiatives in Hansalpur, Gujarat. Under this, he inaugurated and flagged off Maruti Suzuki’s e-Vitara, which is the company’s first made-in-India battery electric vehicle (EV). Furthermore, the EVs manufactured in India will be exported to 100 countries.

Additionally, the prime minister announced the commencement of the manufacturing of hybrid battery electrode in the country. Moreover, under an initiative by TDSG, three Japanese companies will jointly manufacture battery cells in India, and local production of battery cell electrodes will also be undertaken within India.

Earlier in June 2024, Maruti Suzuki invested Rs 4.50 billion to expand its usage of renewable energy solutions in the next three years.
