Torrent Power issues 200 MW FDRE tender with BESS

Torrent Power has invited bids for a 200 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project, integrated with an energy storage system (ESS). The tender also consists of a greenshoe option of up to 100 MW. The projects can be situated at any location in India. According to the tender guidelines, the bidders need to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 2 million.  The last date for bid submission is August 30, 2025.

The power generated from the project is required to be injected into the central transmission utility or interstate transmission system network at a delivery point specified in the power purchase agreement. The eligible technologies are solar, wind, wind–solar hybrid, or other renewable generation systems with ESS, as long as ESS is charged exclusively from renewable energy sources.

Earlier in June 2025, Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a subsidiary of Torrent Power, secured a letter of award for the development of a 300 MW wind power project.
