Sungrow Hydrogen has signed a MoU with United Engineering Services (UES) to explore the establishment of an electrolyser manufacturing facility in Oman. The proposed plant will also manufacture and assemble gas separation and purification systems, along with the associated supporting infrastructure. The planned manufacturing capacity has not been disclosed. The systems produced at the facility will meet domestic demand in Oman as well as cater to export markets.
In December 2024, Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) and thyssenkrupp nucera inked MoU to support the expanding green hydrogen sector in Oman. The collaboration and future deals include identifying the potential for localisation and exploring service hubs for water electrolysers opportunities.
Hydrom is the national orchestrator for Oman’s green hydrogen strategy. It has allocated over 2,300 square kms of land for large-scale green hydrogen production. It is working to build an integrated ecosystem through strategic partnerships, local applications, and detailed market analyses.
In January 2025, Sungrow Hydrogen secured an order from ACME Group to deliver 5 MW alkaline electrolysers for the 320 MW first phase of its 3.5 GW green hydrogen and ammonia project in Oman.
