Yamna inks MoU with NREDCAP to develop green hydrogen and ammonia project

YamnaCo Limited has signed a MoU with the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) to explore the development of a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia project in the state. The proposed project involves the development of a phased grid-connected green ammonia facility with a planned capacity of up to 1 million tonnes per annum.

The project will be located near the port of Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and will source renewable energy from the Indian grid. The total estimated investment for the project is Rs 160 billion. It is expected to generate around 5,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region.

In March 2025, the Andhra Pradesh government signed a MoU with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited to develop up to 7,000 MW of solar, wind, and hybrid clean energy projects, with an estimated investment of Rs 490 billion.
