ACCIONA Energía commences construction of 177.9 MWp solar project in Peru

ACCIONA Energía has commenced construction of the San José project. Located in the district of La Joya in Peru, the photovoltaic project has a capacity of 177.9 MWp. It will commence operations by the end of 2026.

The project will consist of 288,000 photovoltaic modules. Furthermore, it will produce 488 GWh of clean electricity per year. The clean electricity generated will be sufficient to be supplied to 325,000 people and will avoid the annual emission of 255,000 tonnes of carbon. Additionally, the project will be connected to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) at the San José substation through a 220kV, 9.2 km transmission line.

Earlier in May 2025, ACCIONA Energía started commercial operations at the Forty Mile wind farm. The project has a capacity of 280 MW and is situated in Alberta, Canada. The wind farm features 49 Nordex turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW and a tower height of 108 meters.
