Deep Wind Offshore’s Admiral Lee offshore wind project has secured its first electricity business license with an installed capacity of 345 MW. The license has been received from Korea’s Electricity Regulatory Commission under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE). The offshore wind project is being developed based on a partnership between Deep Wind Offshore and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. The partnership was inked in 2025.
The project received approval of the public water surface occupancy and use permit in 2024. It will now proceed with the environmental impact assessment and implementation plan approval. Furthermore, it will target participation in upcoming centrally run REC/PPA auctions thereafter.
Earlier in April 2025, Deep Wind Offshore partnered with Sunly and ALOREM Group for Tuul Energy, which is an offshore wind project in Estonia. The companies will together develop the bottom-fixed offshore wind project with a potential of more than 1 GW.
