Zelestra, through a $282 million project financing package, has achieved financial close of the Aurora project in Chile. The financing package has been agreed with Natixis CIB and BNP Paribas, with a VAT facility granted by BCI. The project includes approximately 1 GWh of energy storage and a 220 MWdc solar plant.
The project will produce approximately 600 GWh of renewable electricity per year. Furthermore, Zelestra has designed a multi-technology solution supported by the Aurora project that will provide Abastible a guaranteed supply of solar energy during night-time hours through a long-term PPA. The delivery of the project is being led by the internal engineering, procurement, and construction division of Zelestra.
Earlier in May 2025, Sungrow inked an agreement with Zelestra to provide battery storage technology for a battery energy storage system (BESS) project being delivered in Latin America. Under the agreement, Sungrow will provide its PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled BESS and its MV power conversion units for the BESS project with a storage capacity of 1 GWh.
