Nextracker has been selected to provide its NX Horizon solar trackers for the 550 MW Oricheio PPC Ptolemaida solar PV park. The project is situated in Western Macedonia and is owned by Greek PPC Renewables, which is a subsidiary of the utility PPC Group.
The project was constructed by Terna SA. Furthermore, it was developed by repurposing the land of a former coal mine with high-performance solar energy infrastructure to generate clean energy. The project is currently in the final stages of construction and is estimated to provide nearly 1.8 per cent of the country’s electricity per year when fully operational.
Earlier in May 2025, Nextracker expanded its solar technology platform with the acquisition of Bentek Corporation, which is a manufacturer of electrical infrastructure used in all types of solar power plants. The acquisition adds an electrical balance of system (eBOS) suite of products to the core solar tracker platform. It was an all-cash transaction of approximately $78 million.
