Poland allocates EUR 633 million for six green hydrogen production projects

Poland’s state-owned Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego has approved funding worth approximately PLN 2.6 billion, or EUR 633 million, for six green hydrogen production projects, each with a minimum capacity of 20 MW. This funding is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, aimed at supporting the domestic industry in achieving the renewable hydrogen targets set under the amended renewable energy directive.

The funding will be disbursed as non-repayable subsidies for hydrogen production installations. The maximum financial support can reach up to EUR 2 million per 1 MW of installed capacity.

The largest allocation under this initiative, amounting to PLN 1.215 billion, has been granted to the Hydrogen Eagle renewable hydrogen production project. Another project under the same corporate group, Lotos Green H2, has received PLN 523 million.
