TruAlt Bioenergy secures OMC status

TruAlt Bioenergy Limited has been officially authorised as an oil marketing company (OMC). This will allow the company to market and retail ethanol, bio-compressed natural gas (CNG), petrol, and diesel nationwide. With this development, the company reportedly becomes one of the first private biofuel companies in India to obtain this licence.

Additionally, the company plans to launch over 100 fuel outlets initially in Karnataka and Maharashtra, offering a mix of petrol, diesel, E93, bio-CNG, electric vehicle charging, and battery swapping services. At least 5 per cent of these outlets will be located in notified remote areas, aligning with the government’s goal of last-mile fuel access. Furthermore, this expansion is expected to create jobs for over 2,000 people across urban and rural areas.

TrueAlt Bioenergy Limited, founded in 2021, is an Indian biofuel producer. The company operates five distilleries based on sugarcane juice and molasses, with a combined ethanol production capacity of 2,000 kilo litres per day. It also reportedly holds a 7 per cent share in India’s molasses-based ethanol supply and 3.7 per cent in the country’s overall ethanol distribution.
