Delta Electronics India has entered into a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to procure 9.6 million units of wind-generated electricity annually for its manufacturing and operational facilities in Tamil Nadu. The agreement was facilitated by Ventus Energy Consultancy Private Limited, and involves sourcing electricity through the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited.
The wind power will be supplied from farms located in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Tiruppur. Additionally, this development is projected to help reduce Delta’s carbon footprint by approximately 6,979 metric tonnes annually.
Delta Electronics, founded in 1971, is a global provider of power and thermal management solutions. The company currently operates 73 research and development centres, 55 manufacturing sites, and employs over 81,000 individuals. The company further plans expanding renewable sourcing across its Indian facilities.
