RIC Energy and Siemens have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint development of projects in the field of renewable hydrogen, green ammonia, and e-fuels in Spain. The collaboration of the two companies will boost the sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) plant. The plant is being promoted by RIC in Cubillos del Sil (León) and is known as the Compostilla Green project.
The agreement includes the participation of various Siemens Group entities, namely Siemens S.A., Siemens Industry Software, Siemens Financial Services, and Siemens Innovation Strategies. Furthermore, the agreement oversees the cooperation in both technical and financial aspects, including the potential development of joint solutions and the exploration of structured financing mechanisms for the projects.
The collaboration also extends to the Besaya project in Torrelavega, an initiative by RIC Energy within the field of large-scale industrial projects related to sustainable fuels. The companies will work on a joint communication strategy to highlight the socio-economic impact of these initiatives on the energy transition and the reindustrialisation of the regions involved.
