ReNew Power is set to invest Rs 220 billion to develop a renewable energy project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The project will be executed in two phases and includes a 1,800 MW solar power plant, a 1,000 MW wind power project, and a 2 GWh battery energy storage system.
In the first phase, ReNew will install a 587 MW solar power plant, a 250.8 MW wind power project, and a 415 MWh BESS. The remaining capacity will be developed in subsequent phases. Additionally, the company plans to construct a 100 km extra-high voltage transmission line to deliver the generated power efficiently. The project, once completed, will reportedly be the largest renewable energy complex in the country.
In April 2025, ReNew Power inaugurated a 1,300 MWp solar power project in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, spread across 3,500 acres and covering villages in Pokran and Bhaniyana tehsils, expected to generate 2,490 million units annually and supply power at a tariff of Rs 2.18 per kWh.
