Uniper has chosen ITM Power as the electrolyser supplier for its green hydrogen production facility at the Killingholme site in the Humber region. The selection follows a detailed tendering and evaluation process, where shortlisted suppliers were assessed based on their capability to meet the project’s technical and delivery requirements.
The Humber H2ub® project is proposed to have an initial green hydrogen production capacity of 120 MW, with scope for future expansion by an additional 200 MW or more. The facility is expected to commence operations by 2029, subject to a final investment decision (FID) anticipated in 2026.
As per the agreement, ITM Power will supply the engineering package for the initial 120 MW phase, which will utilise six of its 20 MW POSEIDON electrolyser units. A full supply contract will be formalised following the completion of the engineering phase and Uniper’s FID.
