RECPDCL floats tender for 400 kV substation and transmission network in Karnataka

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has issued a tender inviting proposals to establish a 400 kV substation and associated transmission lines in Belagavi district, Karnataka. The project will be developed on a build-own-operate basis.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of the work includes design, engineering, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, in addition to supplying the equipment and material, and providing operation and maintenance services. Further, it also includes conducting site surveys, formulating the detailed project report, arranging finances, managing the project, securing consents, clearances, permits, and acquiring the necessary land. The bidders will need to secure a transmission licence from the state regulatory commission. Additionally, bidders are required to furnish a performance guarantee of Rs 409.8 million. The deadline for bid submission is July 4, 2025.

According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must have developed infrastructure projects with a minimum aggregate capital expenditure of Rs 8.19 billion over the last five years, with each project involving at least Rs 1.6 billion. Alternatively, they must have executed projects for which they received aggregate payments of Rs 8.19 billion, with individual project payments not below Rs 1.6 billion. Additionally, the bidders must possess a net worth of at least Rs 3.2 billion.
